You’ve been looking for Tomato Heaven, and now… you found it!

Welcome to Tomato Heaven

Who doesn’t like tomatoes?  Good tomatoes, not those red slices of nothing on most hamburgers or chunks of red in a cheap salad, we’re talking those memorable red fruits, you could salt and eat right off the vine, or like my granddaughter, pick and pop in her mouth like candy.  So good.  Who doesn’t like good tomatoes?  Okay, these blogs are weird, there are pages, see the dark line and titles above, and then there are posts off to the right or hiding in the ARCHIVES.  Keep looking and you will find the good stuff.  Thanks for coming by and hopefully you will find some useful info here or follow links to some.

I would like to thank MHPGardener in Southern Virginia for sharing his experience with Dutch buckets and growing tomatoes in a greenhouse.  His channel is Preparing to Provide and he goes by the name mhpgardener on YouTube.com.  He plans as I am, setting up Dutch buckets for tomatoes outside the greenhouse setting.  In my case I live on a mountain in a residential neighborhood, a state highway out front and no garden.  Having succeeded with earthboxes on my concrete driveway two and three years ago, I know tomatoes can be grown in unfavorable situations.  It takes determination, and, it pays off.

Another individual on Youtube that also studied what mhpgardener was doing and mentions him frequently on his channel Hydroponic Greenhouse Project with Brock Hughes.  He has answered a number of questions I had via email or comments sections of his channel.  Both he and mhpgardener are first rate and very helpful.  Thanks guys.

Cheers, Bruce in Arkansas, raising tomatoes…

Came across this site while looking for rubber grommets to set up dutch bucket hydroponics, Very helpful write up; great description on how to go about setting this up I am planning on setting up a ten-bucket system and am wondering whether a 1/2″ pvc pipe would be adequate for the return drain. And, more importantly, what size grommets should I use for a 1/2″ pvc pipe. Would greatly appreciate any insights on this. Thanks

I went with proven info from mhpgardner. On youtube. He gives the actual part number. And from that the size to use to make a seal. Others simply silicone the joint inside and out. There is no pressure.
